Jordyn Fischels married Dan Weber on October 14, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Church in Gilbertville. The reception followed at Henderson Event Center in Independence.

Parents of the couple are Todd and Angi Fischels of La Porte City and David and Sue Weber of Waterloo. Grandparents of the bride are Richard and Connie Keegan of La Porte City and Marti Ryan of Waterloo.

The maid of honor was Bryanna McFarland and bridesmaids were Megan Clark, Ashlea Malek, Sophie Keppler, Lindsay Weber, Rachael Schares, and Natisha Robb. Personal attendant was Shelby Bowman and flower girl was Kortni Weber. Scott Weber was the best man and Tyler Fischels, Matt Schmitz, Luke Breuer, Nick Weber, Ryan Schares, and Brad Schmitz were groomsmen. Ushers were Chris Weber and Dan Bowman and the ring bearer was Gavin Weber.

The bride is a graduate of UNI, now working at MidAmerican Energy. The groom is a graduate of Hawkeye Community College, now working at John Deere PEC. The couple resides in Jesup.

David and Deborah McQuilkin of La Porte City are delighted to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Alicia McQuilkin to Michael Russell, son of David and Mary Russell of Urbandale. Michael proposed at sunset on a dock in Michigan last July.

Alicia is a 2005 graduate of Union High School and two-time graduate of Iowa State University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 2009 and completed her Masters of Agriculture in 2016 while working in research at DuPont Pioneer. Alicia is employed with DuPont Pioneer at their Research Headquarters in Johnston.

Michael is a 2003 graduate of Urbandale High School and a dual graduate of Iowa State with Bachelor of Arts in History and Accounting. Michael is employed for the Federal Home Loan Bank Regional office in Des Moines.

The wedding will be held at the Temple for Performing Arts in Des Moines on October 13th. Alicia and Michael will reside in Urbandale.

The bride is the daughter of Alvin and Mary Bauer of La Porte City. The groom is the son of Rodney and Tammy Greiner of Reinbeck. Grandparents of the groom are Dale and Bea Greiner of Reinbeck, and Don and Carol Stansbery of Traer.

The bride is a 2014 graduate of Wartburg College and a 2016 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. She is employed as a physical education teacher at Holmes Junior High in Cedar Falls. The groom is a 2015 graduate of Iowa State University and farms with his father and brother. The couple reside in rural Reinbeck.

Kelsey Wauters, originally from Elberon, and Charlie Swanson of Lakeville, Minnesota, are celebrating their upcoming wedding.

Parents of the couple are Jerry and Lori Wauters of Elberon, and John and Michaeleen Swanson of Lakeville, Minnesota. Grandparents are Dorothy Barnes of Cresco, Ellen Knoop of Dysart, and Margaret Wauters of Traer.

The bride-to-be is a 2007 graduate of Union High School, and a 2011 graduate of Luther College with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Accounting and Business Management. She is a certified public accountant and works as an audit manager at Deloitte and Touche in Minneapolis.

The groom-to-be is a 2007 graduate of Lakeville North High School, and a 2011 graduate of St. John’s University (MN) with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry. He is a 2015 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Masters in Education. He teaches Science in the Minnetonka School District.

A November wedding will be held in the Twin Cities area.

Maid of Honor was Amanda Akers, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Destiny Dunning, friend of the couple and Jacey Reineke, sister of the groom.

Best Man was Lance Weeda, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Jordan and Jeremy Reineke, brothers of the groom.

The bride is an emergency dispatcher for Tama County. The groom works for the Iowa State Patrol, also as an emergency dispatcher. They live in Belle Plaine.

The bride works for the U.S. Postal Service and the groom works for Sides & Bown Construction, La Porte City.
